Hagop Kantarjian, MD

Dr. Hagop M. Kantarjian joined The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in 1981 as a fellow in the Department of Developmental Therapeutics and joined the faculty in 1983. He currently serves as professor of medicine and chairman of the Department of Leukemia, directs the world’s largest comprehensive leukemia program, and holds the Kelcie Margaret Kana Research Chair.

 


 

Learning Objectives

In general, oncology/hematology professionals who avail themselves of the ASH 2007 CML expert interview should be able to:

  • Consider the clinical impact of emerging therapies on survival and quality of life for CML patients.  
  • Evaluate clinical trial data presented at ASH based on study design, the reported results, and authors’ conclusions.
    Consider the reviewed data as it relates to previous, concurrent and future treatment of CML.
  • Consider the rationale for the use of current and emerging therapies in newly diagnosed and refractory CML patients. 
  • Evaluate the current and emerging data with respect to overall patient outcomes, safety, and efficacies.
